Adult License Renewal In Person

Two Options

  • Renew online (if you got a letter saying you're eligible to & have the PIN #)
  • Renew in-person - required every other time you renew

  2. Gather Your Documents - Required to Bring

    • Valid out-of-state driver license
    • Proof of identity
    • Proof of social security number
    • Two (2) documents showing proof of Utah address 
    • Additional documents for name change (if applicable)

  3. At Your Appointment

    • Have your confirmation number ready to check-in
    • Have photo taken
    • Present documents
    • Take eye test
    • Pay non-refundable fee of $52.00
    • Take the 25-question open-book written knowledge test

When do I get my license?

  • A temporary license with a photo will be issued on the same day
  • License with an 8-year expiration date will be mailed to you in approximately 4-6 weeks
Attention: By law, you may not possess more than one REAL ID-compliant certificate at a time (e.g., a Utah license and a Colorado ID.)
