Two visits to a DLD office are required to get your license

- Or test with 3rd party tester & bring proof of passing to office

Gather your documents - must bring to appointment
- Your country's driver license as proof of being previously licensed
- Bring your current lawful presence identity document.
- A S.A.V.E. verification will be run to verify your document status (this process may take up to 14 days.) To understand S.A.V.E verifications, click here
- Bring your social security card or proof of ineligibility to obtain a social security number.
- Two (2) documents providing proof of your Utah address.
- If your name has changed, bring proof of your new name.
- Bring parent or guardian to sign for you if 17 and under
At your appointment
- Have your confirmation number ready to check in
- Have photo taken
- Present documents
- Take eye test
- Pay non-refundable fee of $32.00
- Take the 25-question open-book written knowledge test
- A temporary license with a photo will be issued on the same day
- To get your complete license, you must complete the driving skills test
